Samhain Casting

The three original couplets (lead couplets of verses one and two, and the last couplet of each verse,) weren't enough for a circle this big. So I was asked to write some more. There were hours to spare, of course.

Cast the Circle round about,
    to keep all unkind spirits out.

Below we mirror all above
    This circle is a place of love

In time of fruit and falling leaf,
    A place where joy will conquer grief

Where parted friends will meet again
    and laughter overcome the pain

Round the Circle three times spin,
    hold love and laughter well within,

Cast the Circle three times round,
    that truth and wisdom here be found.

Ask the powers once again
    That kindly spirits now remain

Now at the turning of the year
    All who desire are gathered here

And all are welcome in this place
    That now becomes a sacred space

Round the Circle three times spin,
    hold love and laughter well within,

One more time the circle run
    A web of love and trust is spun

Bathed in spirit, charmed with light
    Shaped to hold our sacred rite

Turn and change of lives and years
    Love and laughter, smiles and tears

Healing hearts and quiet mind
    Leaving bitterness behind
